I’m Sophia, though most people call me Phia. I'm a portrait photographer in Los Angeles, specializing in professionals, families, and models who want images where you look confident, relaxed and like yourself. Whether you need a polished headshot, a portfolio refresh, or family photos that actually show connection, I’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.

A bit about how i work

If you’re “not photogenic” or “hate being in front of the camera,” that's totally normal. I’ll guide you through the shoot so you never feel awkward or unsure, but I’m not into overly stiff posing. I pay attention to how you naturally move and build from there, so the photos feel polished, flattering, and still like you.

The art of the image

Photography is a craft to me, and every image gets individual attention. I do not batch edit everything with the same filter. I shape color, tone, and detail with intention to elevate each photo while keeping it true to the person, the moment, and the art.

Where I work

My studio is in Santa Monica, and I also travel for shoots. I’m LA-based now, but I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and still head back for sessions (and visits) when I can.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, inspired by the women in my family. I started my career in advertising, but what began as a hobby eventually became my profession.
